The strangest thing is that now VS remembers Photo paper and quality but prints in Normal.

Wiin 11 and VS 1.2.054 and 055

There are no such issues with other software.

One thing to try: create an empty document, and print one page with that printer but first change the paper type.
Then (after printing) save the document and send it to me by email.
VS should save the last printing settings with the document.
I can check if it has been saved correctly.

The issue still exists. Even when VS shows Photo paper and printing quality, it still sends "Plain paper" and "Normal" quality settings to the printer. I think this problem showed up in a few former builds. I didn't have these issues before.

Printer: Brother MFC-J4620DW with the latest drivers.
