I had just saved it recently so its possible the crash happened in between the last save and inside the window of time before the auto-recovery kicks in. But it prompted me to go check that auto-backup was active.

I noticed it's no longer an option listed in the File>"Document Setup". Does it have a new location that I am missing? I do see instead a related option under File>"Incremental Save". I can click on it there but I'm not sure if it's active or not. Is there a place to control how often it saves and where it saves? Those were options when it was still in side the "Document Setup"

What about a fly-out option from the File>"Incremental Save" with those options available? Same with incremental backup?
