This is how it functions in Illustrator - when you move a node, the path becomes highlighted and you can see where it was before

That is how it will work in VS if the Direct Preview Mode is disabled.

@VectorStyler In this topic, I mentioned a problem regarding the visibility of the selection.
After disabling Direct Preview, an analogic problem appears.

As for sliding along an angle. Wouldn't it be possible to integrate that under the Shift key along with the vertical and horizontal snapping?

@VectorStyler on a related note to @encart 's video, the first time he tries to move that node, he grabs it and it does not respond at all - (the second time he is able to move it -albeit it went wonky on him from that point forward)
Focusing for a minute on the first issue - I see this happen often, especially using the stylus. Going back to an existing node, I often need to click and drag more than once for it to get recognized.

I could not replicate this (with the default settings).

Yes, this should work when holding Shift, if the angle snapping is not too small.

Does not work in my case. https://recordit.co/sP7fN2a4mI.

I was referring to the movement of control points around curves. For lines this is not working.

                      Maybe as a new feature.

@encart yes! that would be an awesome addition! That is a better idea than I was thinking of and I would use it often
