Horizontal and vertical artboards spacing

In File / New Document Setup and Canvas / Arrange Artboards menus, It would be great to distinguish spacing between artboards horizontally and vertically (for example working on page spreads - horizontal spacing is 0, but it would be great to have different vertical spacing etc.):

In the "Artboards" tab, there is a Layout drop down, where more layout options can be edited with "Edit Layout"

Thanks, I missed that one - but it lacks the increasing or decreasing direction of artboards which does a great job in "New" tab.
BTW - what's the difference between the artboard configuration made by the "New" and "Artboard" tabs? Wouldn't be easier to have just one tab with all combined features to set up artboards?
