As you may have noticed, I am quite busy with Vectorstyler typography. I'm also trying to make some tests. What do you consider a stable font(+founder) so that you rule that out as a possible cause of possible problems?

@Ayo I think most of the Apple (or Windows) system fonts should not have problems with VectorStyler. For example the Times, Arial, Helvetica variants.

BTW: VS also supports variable fonts and color fonts, so if you have those, let me know if these cause any issues.
And the old Adobe Type 1 (pfb/afm) fonts are also supported (but not the mac resource fork versions).

And another thing: if there are fonts where VS has problems, please let me know.

Question aside: can you also read 'Caps Height' in the font info in addition to the properties family, style, weight etc.?

I don't mean to speak out of school, but thinking out of the box, it is theoretically possible to specify the Font Size based on Caps Height instead of the classic Character/Em height?

Interesting idea, not possible for now, but it would be easy to add.

@VectorStyler X-heights can vary a lot from typeface to typeface:

Because of European Union's regulations for packaging, it would be very
useful to be able to specify the font size based on the x-height value.

According to EU’s FIC Regulation 1169/2011, a minimum font size
applies to mandatory information (ingredients for instance) which you
must print using a font with a minimum x-height of 1.2mm.

If the largest surface area of packaging or label is less than 80 cm squared,
you can use a minimum x-height of 0.9mm.

Same rules continue in the UK after Brexit.

MacBook Pro (Intel) running Monterey 12.6.4

@b77 @Ayo Would it make sense to have an drop down option in Character style to select Default/CapHeight/XHeight font sizing mode?

I ask you an inch, and you go 3 inches. I will be coming back to this later.
