Once I've defined an object as a shape (Object-->Object role-->Shape) I can't change the position of the nodes. I can only see them when I click on the object, but as soon as I release the mouse, all I see is a rectangle delimiting the object/shape.
      Thanks ☺

@Pat The nodes of both the original and its uses should be editable: https://recordit.co/1gnPHuhTm4

In your case it looks like the shape was applied as a clipping shape.

What was the object on which the shape was selected?

@VectorStyler Thanks ☺ it was a simple drawing made with either the pen tool or the pencil to test different shape effects. I have to memorize how to define object options.

@Pat Send me the file from that screenshot, I will try to figure out what could have happened there.

@Pat Got it. The shape has an envelope effect on it, so the node tool will edit the envelope shape.

@VectorStyler During all my various tests, I certainly applied this effect and forgot... thanks ☺
