Why does the background change color and give a flash effect each time a node is moved or edited inside a clipping group isolation?

Is there a specific reason the background changes color and gives a flash effect each time a node is moved and edited inside a clipping group isolation? I understand I'm seeing what is hidden inside the clipping group, but why does the actual background grey need to also change color and go lighter, giving a flash effect? Its a bit jarring on the eyes.
