Can someone remind me how to move live text on a path? I seem to only be able to make it active once in a while and I'm not sure what I am missing. I ave existing text sitting on a circular path. I know the transform tool can make this happen and I've used it a ton, but right now, it wants to move the circular path and the text together as aunit and

@Boldline When you move the Select/Transform tool (V) close to the lower left
corner of the text object, the cursor changes to a 'text-on-path' icon and you
can click and drag to move the text on the path: https://recordit.co/CVGxlGhXtB

@b77 thanks but I'm not getting the same result you are. I never see an "x" like that and occasionally I can get a squiggle line to show up near the cursor and get it to move, but most of the time it fails to do anything I need...

Here is a video showing my failed attempts now. I'm not sure what I am missing

Seems like the only way I can do it is to use the text on a path tool to double click the text I want to adjust and highlight it all and then grab the transform tool and hover over the selected text and wait for a squiggle line icon and then move it

I also can't seem to get it to work for a closed circle path for example... I must be missing something.
Here's another video where I finally get it to work on the open path example but not able to do so again on the closed path

@Boldline Sounds like 'Select Text on Path Anchor' is enabled in Settings > Changing?
Disable it and you should be able to select only the text, then you can move it with
            the Select/Transform tool.

@b77 ok thanks that was it! Once I unchecked that, it all moved easily. I wish there was a way to have the best of both options
