Pasting text from clipboard does not replace highlighted text on path

I'm still having an issue with replacing text on a path with text saved to the clipboard. If I use the Edit> Paste from the menu at the top, it works perfectly, but if I use the shortcut command+v while the text on path is highlighted, the existing text disappears
UPDATE: if I open a fresh VS file and try again, it works as expected fully.

@Boldline Bot sure why this happens. About how long was VS running before this occurred?
