brush changes direction if path is moved too far

I don't know if this is a bug or intentional but when I use my brush and alter the location of one end of the path too far, it wants to flip the brush around on that path. I created small video. Do you show what I'm talking about and I'll include the source file as well. In my mind, path would not affect the brush itself. I completely flipped them around moving one note to the other side of the screen. If I miss something, maybe someone can let me know. thank you.
