Was erase mode removed from the pen tool?

I was doing a deep dive into erase options per tool and realized I could not find the erase option mentioned by @VectorStyler in this old thread.

In the vimeo video link attached to the old thread - it shows you using the erase option and modifier key to erase the overlapping segment by drawing over it with the pen tool.that functionality seems to be missing now. Was this changed to somehting else?

@Boldline It is in the Pencil tool, but before starting to draw, check the "Eraser" option in the context panel.
