How to use this tool?

This tool is not finished yet, is it? It seems that there is no effect. -
@monsterfox The tool pointed in the first image is the Path Sketch tool. It is similar to the Pencil tool but it can create intersections to join paths as they are drawn.
The tool in the second image seems to be in the wrong place. It is the path smoothing tool that works on existing paths.

Does this refer to the "Smooth Tool"? If you could send me an example file (with a path) on which this tool had no effect, it might help replicating it. It could be a settings issue.

@monsterfox That tool should not be listed among the actions (something internal). The correct simplify path tool is in the toolbox (3rd tool group).
