@Subpath said in Panels do not save their position:

Is there a chance that the panels will be reopened at the last place
they were closed, even after a restart?

This should be working, if not it is a bug.

Select the Help -> Reveal Workspace folder, and see of there are "settings.xml" and "panelstate.xml" files there. What is the date and size of these files?

At the moment, at least for me, they are sometimes placed in the bottom
        left corner,

        Same for me.

          Size: 11 KB

          panelstate.xml
          Date: 18.09.2024
          Size: 59 KB

          Win 11

This might also be a problem.

            panelstate.xml

The state of the panels is saved into this file.

I will open a bug on this and try to replicate it.

@Subpath Send me those files form the workspace folder by email. it seems that the panel stae is stored (the file exists), but for some reason it is not loaded.

@Subpath I could not replicate the panel state issue with these files. One thing to try is to exit VS and remove all files in the /resources/ folder where the panel state file was.

I did this, but it did not work
or rather it only works once
then the panels are opened in the bottom left corner

did not know what you mean with "application state"
                        and where to find it

is this the same as "globalstate" ?
