Is there a setting that adjusts the sensitivity of the eyedropper tool when sampling colors in a document?

@Boldline Did you try with shift+click to sample the exact color.
Otherwise it tries to find an object and copy the style.

BTW: which tool was used here?

@VectorStyler I was using the style picker initially and it was hit or miss depending on what size the sampled object was. If it was larger in size, it was easier to choose the fill color of that object. if it was smaller, it would choose the color (in this case black) of the encompassing shape. using shift modifier made the selected color sampled the stroke color.
I also tried with the color picker option instead, but when I click on a desired fill color, it makes it the stroke and does not replace the fill, even as both shapes do not have a stroke. Adding the shift modifier to the color picker tool does not change this - I still get the sampled fill color added as a stroke. Here is a new video of me experimenting with both the style and color pickers with and without the shift modifier as well

@Boldline Got the file, but is seems to be working here.

In default mode: the styler picker tool applies styles from a clicked object onto the current selected object.

Question: before clicking, when hovering over an object with the mouse, is there a highlight (outlines + nodes) shown?

Nothing gets highlighted when I hover over things - but I believe I also have the auto highlight settings off on hover in my settings

@Boldline The highlight can help identifying the shape from which the style is picked from.

@VectorStyler I reset VS to the default settings and that retuned the auto-highlight on hover. I may leave it on when I return to my regular custom settings and see how it goes.
With the default settings, the style picker worked most of the time aside still from sampling from small objects. If I used the shift modifier with the style picker, it would correctly sample even from the small sample areas in default mode.

The first part of this video was sans shift modifier and the latter half was when I was using the shift modifier.

                    You had written earlier:

Otherwise it tries to find an object and copy the style.

What is the difference between using the shift modifier with the style picker and not? Can you elaborate on this a little more?
From what I can see here, the shift modifier is helpful in small sample shapes enclosed by other larger shapes of another unwanted color.

With the shift modifier the color is picked from the screen pixel.

With no shift, it will search for an object pointed by the mouse and pick the style of the object (not just color, but also gradient or pattern).
