(Artistic) Text tool

Just have some questions about the text tool. Is there an other way of getting the artistic text tool than pressing the Alt key? If not I would really like to see an icon in the toolbox which I can use. I normally use the artistic text more often than the frame text in an vector program.
When I'm typing or deleting text in the text box, I can't see where I am because there isn't an indicator to show me where I put text. Is this normal? Also when I try to select the text nothing happens to show me the selected text. In most text editor the text is getting blue colored. How can I change this so I can see what I've selected?

Found out that in Settings>Changing you can check 'Shape Text in Frame dragging' is changing the frame text in artistic text. But is it than still possible to get frame text or do you first have to uncheck this in the settings?

seems to be a problem in the specific opened file. Don't sure what is making this problem.
