PEn tool direction handle isn't visible after a few strokes

I am having serious issues here using the pen tool and the direction handle
While holding alt + dragging , the vector direction is shown
While then creating a straight line , followed by a curved line ( same procedure as above ) the direction handle isn't shown anymore , unless when hovering the mouse over the last inserted point .

@gentle Clearly there is a bug here, I will try to fix this as soon as possible.
