New document setup or Recent documents at startup? Thumbnails in explorer of VS files

Hi! Im looking in settings if is possible that VS open the new document setup or a list of recent documents saved, but appear not, at least in the "Document Files" setting. Maybe im not aware of some other option. If not possible, would be cool the recent files list. The start screen with settings and recent saved ones is pretty standard in Inkscape, Scribus, Pageplus, Krita, and several others. imho is very usefull, specially if you have some kind of thumbnail preview of your last used docs.
Another thing that would be cool is a Thumbnail in explorer of the document, as it happens with most graphic files, including pdf, and several others. -
