I was just curious if the brush was supposed to always switch away from the plain brush at the top of the brush options.
I was testing out the strokes and wanting to use the pressure sensitivity only with the brush but it seemed to always want to flip to a different existing brush for that. My thought was that I could just use the plain brush and only affect it's width with the pressure option only. That or use a tapered profile along with the pressure option, but not necessarily use the existing brushes that have a taper if that makes sense.
This is the video I made trying this
There also seemed to be some strange strokes made when I had pressure on and chose the plain brush and no profile... you can also see that in the video.
IMaybe this is how it's supposed to be? (the first part)

@Boldline Yes, the brush tool will always switch form the plain (solid stroke) to a brush. This is by design for now. To paint with a plain stroke (including tapering), use the Pencil tool.
II open a new bug on this one, to have the brush tool paint with solid stroke also.
