Path Brush sometimes only works when stroke overlaps existing path brush fill

I don't know if this is a bug or I am not using the brush correctly, but sometimes it only puts down a mark when it overlaps in some capacity, an existing section previously created by the path brush. Here is a video of this. At first it had jumped to a no fill/no stroke setup and I had to fix that, but then it would not let me make independent marks... now, when I made a new layer above it and tried again, it worked fine.
is there a setting I am missing? -
@Boldline Replicated! Will be fixed. It seems that after adding to some existing object and then starting a new one does not refresh after the paint. Command+R refresh will fix this.
