Alignment Dropdown panel - can geometric/order of selection options be set to remain on last selected?

In the alignment panel dropdown from the top right side of the screen, could the geometric/order of selection buttons be set like the "align-to" counterparts on the other side of the same panel? So if we select an option for the geometric/order of selection buttons, that new selection remains the new default the next time the alignment panel is opened?
