Here is a video showing the issue I mean - you can see some of the laces parts trail behind
I believe this relates to the mode chosen using the spacebar that was added a few months back - usually pressing the space bar when this occurred would switch it back to normal movement and scaling. This does not always seem to work.
I feel I need to go back and review how this tool activated with the space bar works because right now it just seems to appear at inopportune times

Any help would be appreciated - thanks!

@Boldline Can you send me a file to replicate this? Thanks!
Also: if the layer these objects are in is transformed, that could be a problem (select the layer with the small circle in the Layers panel, and then check if the Effects -> Remove Last Shape Effect is active, if so select it).

@Boldline Command+R refresh will fix it. This looks like a bug, added it to the backlog.

@vectoradmin Thanks for your help with this. I tried using Command-R to refresh but it did not have the desired affect. It was still behaving as it did prior. For me, the earlier step you mentioned, to ungroup all a couple times and then regroup together was successful for me.

@Boldline This is a bug in how combined groups are refreshed. It will break at every transform or mode, and Command+R will be needed after each.

@Boldline More info on this one: there is an extra fill content on the groups inside the moved group. This should be fine, but due to a bug, it is not rendered correctly while moving.
Workaround: in this case that group fill is not needed, so it could be removed in the Appearance panel.
