With the Circle in VS, Circle Sections are also possible.
I wanted to suggest adding this to the Polygon Shape as well.

We can do this with Booleans, but why not directly?
One advantage would be that it remains editable and i think
this would be helpful for symmetries.

@Subpath Good suggestion. Some more suggestions. This can also be done boolean and in context bar, But it is fast. If this could be added to VS would be very helpful in designing icons.

@Subpath Would this be to any angle, or only at specific angles depending on the polygon sides?

            Thanks for video
Its interesting what we could do already with Shapes in VS

I would say any angle if this possible, just like the Circle Sections does it ?

              CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, 6-core.
              GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 5070.

Agreed, but with an option to snap to the sides while setting the angles, as that would likely be a common scenario?

A simple button or checkbox to split the polygon or star-based shape into it's sides or "rays" is faster, and if this has an option to have those sides also divided in halves starting from the center it's even more useful.

A way to divide a polygon into fewer or more parts than its sides can be done separately, I would say.

I am not fixated on a solution.
I was thinking about it while I was playing with pattern creation in VS

And I like to use Clones for that. With Circles Sections, I do it this way.

                    0_1648470338524_Symmetrie-1.png

Doing that with (cloned) Polygon Shape Sections would offer
the possibility to distribute the pattern and it would keep the
                    Shape editable.
