@vectoradmin It looks like the app ignores the Ctrl key for the first segment you draw after pressing it — it still draws a curve. That is, unless you Ctrl-drag.

        • when you hover the button to activate snapping and you click it, it looks greyed out until you stop hovering it. Confusing when having a quick glance, it should turn blue.

        This will be fixed.

        • arrows to change steps or values often don’t work in various parts of the interface (Mac M1 pro, touchpad)

Could be an issue when using touchpad. A specific example (panel or view) would help to narrow down the problem

        • I'm not a fan of the way straight lines work. You can't create a single straight line with the pen tool.

The Control+Drag as explained by @b77 should draw lines with the Pen tool. One problem could be that the control can only be pressed after the mouse button is pressed. Also: to continue with another line, the mouse can be pressed when close to the end of the previous line.

I could not replicate the issue posted by @b77 more info is needed.

What about the easier click plus shift click using the pen tool to create a singe line constrained to an angle, and simply a click plus click to create a single free straight line?

I add this to the backlog. If it does not conflict with existing features, then it can be done.

@vectoradmin After a few curved segments, I press Ctrl to make the next segment straight, but I still get a curved segment with a simple click: https://recordit.co/Uu4IXQO5in

The next ones are straight with one click, but not the one right after pressing Ctrl.

@b77 I mixed up the Pen with the Pencil tool, again 🙂

@b77 well CTRL dragging indeed creates a straight line but when you fix the second point, if you don't add a third point the line will be pushed back to a single point (the first click).
Unless there's a way to "confirm" the second point I don't know about... the line tool looks like being the only way to create a single straight line.

Unless I missed your "point" ☺

@Torakikiii If you hold Ctrl then click-and-drag, the segment will be (and stay) straight.

If however you just click (and don't drag) when Ctrl is pressed, the first segment will look at first straight but then will snap back to curved, just as you say.
It's what I reported to the developer and made short video about: https://recordit.co/Uu4IXQO5in

I made another video. Here it is Arrows

That is not an arrow for scrolling up or down, instead a button to open a popup with a horizontal slider.

There are a few cases of up / down arrows throughout in the UI (mostly integer fields), but the large majority of fields is with this type of popup horizontal slider.

@vectoradmin I see your point but still, as a new user, the do look like as incrementing/decrementing arrows ☺
Since it's a cosmetic thing I'd suggest a different icon design but at this point it's up to the UX designer ☺

                      Thanks for the feedback.

@Torakikiii Agree with the different icon design.
