Can we add the option to paste text in text box we sized first?

Could the text input option where we size the text first, allow pasting text?
Right now, if I click once with the text tool, I get the "Lorem ipsum" placeholder text and then by clicking command-v, I can immediately replace that line text with whatever text I previously copied from elsewhere. This is expected and good.
When I use the alternative method to add text and click and drag with the text tool to make the size first, I cannot paste text that way, even though there is a text input bar blinking at me. it creates a small line of text instead.

@Boldline This looks like a bug, as it should paste the text at the cursor. I added it to the backlog.
