      Now this is an important feature request. This movie shows how AD handles the display during some edits. For the sake of making it obvious how useful this feature is I painted a thin stroke on a solid background. It is totally hidden by the indicator shapes, gradient tool and whatever else when these various tools are selected.

      When I make adjustments to color, opacity, gradient steps or stroke witdth and more, though, the object is displayed without these indicators and tools above it - I see the actual object without visual noise as I make these edits.

        Another real world scenario. This is a thin red line with a gradient that goes from dark red to 0% opacity.

        Here you can see I am making edits to the gradient stop but the gradient tool hides my edits. I see a white line instead!

        You can only see that the gradient stop changes as I make edits; but I can't see the result during editing.

          @Ingolf Added this to the feature list. I think it is doable in the short term.
