Is the constant text field size available?

Say I have a text: CHAMPION. I want to change it to: CHAMP, but let it keep the same amount of space, fonts should fit the same space which was occupied by CHAMPION.
Something like pinned text area template, don't know how to call that.

@plrang No such thing, unless aligning the text centered in a text frame.
Is there any example in other apps for such a feature? It would need to adjust tracking, or stretch the glyphs?

But a similar thing is possible in VS. The only issue is that the text will not keep its position (I opened a bug on this to try to improve).

What is in the file:

the blue rectangle is a named shape reference (see Object Options and Role).
the text has an Envelope effect.
in the Envelope effect options, the shape reference is set as the envelope shape.
editing the text will keep the size to the rectangle (because of the envelope).
changing the rectangle will change the envelope size / proportions.

just watched the video, that would be a great addition to VS. It would be great to be able to custom save a warp shape for future use like that. Although it does not keep the size of the warp box the same, you can go in and change text in a warp currently in VS

With option for preserve properties or not?

Possibly there are more parameters at play in the algorithms with text than graphics. I've seen applications have such a fit to frame option, and it was nice and easy to use. And logical.

It is already possible to save shape effect presets and styles, including envelope effects

Well, i think Align Size (Alignment Panel) to the width of another Shape/Text
does also work

yes, seems in your case would be difficult
