How could we adjust the height of text on a path now that transform tool covers the duties of the text on path tool that was removed?

I'm glad to see the text on a path tool that was dedicated only to moving the text along a path was added to the duties performed by the transform tool - that said, if I want to edit/warp the text on a path by pulling it taller (or wider) , how would I do so now? If I remember correctly, that was done with the transform tool before but trying it now that it's got the added duty of moving text along the path, it does not seem to have that ability.

@Boldline Transform tool could not do much with text on path before either.

But one thing to do is setting the vertical character scaling factor in the Characters panel.
