How could I close pencil fills easily?

  • With the pencil tool (fill only enabled), is there a way to have it easily completely fill in if the pencil stroke is not closed and overlaps instead - using something like unite or merge? I'm not necessarily asking that the pencil tool itself perform this step, just that it can be easily accomplished in VS.
I created this white shape using the pencil tool with fill only. I then tried "unite" and the result is in the image below. I tried to adjust the "normalize winding" but it was grayed out.
When i tried to use the path brush to fill it, it created the inverse of what I wanted

@Boldline can you send me this example by email, so that I better understand what is going on.

  • @VectorStyler sent it. Maybe it's a fluke because it's working as expected with some of the other shapes
