Magic Wand Selection & composite shape

I believe I understand how the selection options work, I have the mode switched to 'Magic Wand' and several composite objects in my document. When I click on an object that has the SAME colour (can be selected with 'Select Similar > Select by Style > Fill Content) the magic wand has no problem picking the same 2 objects. When the colours are close, but not the same, nothing happens, no matter how high I set the tolerance. I assumed that this would work similar to AI's and that with 100% tolerance EVERYTHING should be selected. The only special thing in this case is that my objects are composites - but the parts of the composite have all the same fill color. Ideas? Bug?

@syllie Can be replicated. This seems to be a bug, will be fixed ASAP.
