Shapebuilder question

Today I played a bit with the shapebuilder tool too and I had a question about it, sorry for comparing it again with AI but in the course I mimic with VS they use shapebuilder also drag over enclosed areas and create a complete solid fill object.
I found it works also like that in VS, but it additionally creates objects equal to the fill area. Is that intentional? Does that need to happen (I can imagine a use for it, but also can see it as undesired in some cases).

@syllie I will test this, it looks like some extra objects are created under the merged fill.
Can you send me this example.BTW: the whole shape builder and intersection thing will get a major improvement in the next build.
