Minor but potentially important thing I wanted to bring up. When we tell someone to go look in the "preferences", at least on Mac, that means Vectorstyler>Settings. I wonder if that throws people off because once you click on "settings" the panel opens and it's called "preferences"
Adding to the confusion is the option to click on "preference files" right below that.
Would it make more sense to call it "preferences" instead of settings? should the "preferences files" be inside the preferences panel instead of sitting outside of them like it is now?

@Boldline Strange thing: that menu is called "Preferences" on Mac here.

@VectorStyler oh wow...that's interesting. The screenshot was taken on an M1 mac mini running Ventura 13.4
I checked on my laptop and it also says "settings", but I'm running the same OS there as well.

@Boldline Not sure how this might change, as that menu cannot be customized.
I will check on M1 also.

@VectorStyler Next time I turn on the intel mac, I will check to see what it says there.

This changed in macOS 13, for all applications.

Part of the iPadification of macOS, as it has long been called Settings on the iPad and iPhone.

System Preferences became System Settings, too.

@fde101 ok that makes more sense now. Not that I think its a good thing per se

iPadification ? Sounds fairly painful to me 🙂

But yes, just checked my M2 Mac Mini and sure enuff, it says Settings... - and on my Intel Mac, it says Preferences ...

FGS, what was wrong with prefs LOL.

Good to know 'though that the Oxford Dictionary can now gain a new useless word iPadification 🙂

@Igull it is hardly original - it has been in use for several years now:
