@Ayo I’m glad you have taken a special interest in improving the preferences. Everyone agrees they need improvement. I like your approach of showing the before and after ideas. I agree with your suggestions in the latest pdf aside from making all shapes lines with no fill by default.

Would say that you are right about that, because of Adobe users who would
like to create vector graphics without subscription.

In the meantime CorelDraw has also switched to subscription,
so there is another market.

But that the tools work like in Adobe Illustrator was not an argument for
me to buy and that Tools dont work like in CorelDraw was
not an obstacle. But i think i am minority with that. It was
the tools and the features in VS.

I think it all has to do with what I said before. If Vecorstyler has its own strong and clear positioning, you can make choices from there. From the overall look and feel to which tool is first (and visible) in the drawing row.

For example, let's say:
Vector styler = Precision Vector Art Application > Pen tool first
Vector styler = Intuitive Vector Art Application > Pencil tool first

Simple!

Ah.. yes... then we say; both please. But I think that's not right. You have to put something first to boost your profile. That is not to say that one excludes the other.

I support moving the pen tool to the first spot because it's going to be the most commonly used tool. The pencil tool gets used often but not the way the pen tool is

If you switch to two-column toolbox (Panels > Toolbox Style), the Pen tool is the first.

Btw, what do you guys think should be the natural order of these tools after VS gets
a Curvature tool? (It's on the roadmap).

The way I see it, I don't think VS is about being "Precision Vector Art" or "Intuitive Vector Art". The positioning I see for VS is a high end vector editing program catering to power-users who want to fine-tune it to work most efficiently for their needs. The fact that it is so feature-rich and customizable is a large part of its identity. In the end, the developer is the one setting the identity, no matter how we personally see it

It was just an example of how a positioning statement can be a guideline for a choice. Indeed, it is not for me/us to determine that.
With this in mind, your positioning "high end vector editing program catering to power-users" is a plea for the Pen tool first! But you already shared that.
It's just little things, but many little things...
