Eraser brush seems to create shaking results and when zoomed in close, near straight lines

My eraser and subsequent path brush when used seem to be trying too hard to get a contrived result. The eraser brush result shakes and quivers as the line is being made. If I zoom way in, the eraser brush seems to only want to create straight line results. I'm not getting that free flow I'm used to. Is there a setting for this I'm missing?

@Boldline yes, in the new builds (also in beta) the eraser brush path is simplified when displayed to show more accurately where it will erase.
This simplification results in small changes to parts of the path as new parts are painted. -
@VectorStyler In the current 1.2 beta, where do we go to switch between the eraser modes (the earlier version and the one you switched to for the initial beta release)?
