Pencil tool keeps selection longer than necessary

When using the pencil tool with no stroke and fill enabled, it maintains the selection outline long past the time the user moves on to making a new fill shape. In my video link, I demonstrate this (the light blue outline selection corresponds to the light blue layer color). then I switch over to how Affinity does the same thing. The current shape being created is highlighted until the next one begins.

@Boldline Yes, this is a "highlight" indicator for shape drawing. It shows that those objects are still selected.
