Why is it so much easier to select a clipped object outside the shape than overtop the main shape

I still struggle with how it's almost too easy to select a clipped shape hidden from view inside another shape simply by clicking in the hidden area. When I click overtop the clipping shape itself, it's a lot harder to get the clipped shape selected unless you click directly on a node
Could there be an option to only allow clipped objects to be selected based on what is visible? Or a context bar option to lock all clipped objects? -
@Boldline It is because of the selection order between what is inside and the clipping shape.
The clipping shape is considered to be filled (with its content) so when clicking inside the shape is tested first for selection.The only way to work around this for now is the isolation of the content.
I will try to improve this.

are you referring to isolating the clipped object on a different layer or sublayer and locking it?

@Boldline Use the "Isolate Inside" (double click) to edit the content of a group.
I changed the order of the selection (members first) for the next build (it is just a resource flag), lets see how it will work.
