Shouldn't the group of options be based on the selected color?
Once the group is selected, yes. But the previews in the list are not.
The rest might be bugs, I have to test those.

That's a pity
I am used to the fact that the preview is also built from the selected color (ai) and that is very useful. The variations are quite inspiring in palette compositions. For example, if you are working on a blue-based domain, previews from red are meaningless and do not match your search query at all. It is too much to ask the brain to convert and imagine the options in the selected color. -

I checked Affinity at this point. They call it 'Color Chords'. Nice name by the way.
"A color chord is a spread of harmonious colors which can be used in conjunction with each other to produce appealing designs" (from the manual) and that is true.They only preview names. In their case perhaps a better solution than a random fixed color preview if unable to show a correct dynamic color-based preview.
