A Curve/Path made from a Letter need to be ungrouped before i am able to apply a blend

If a Letter is already converted into a Curve/Path
why have i ungroup this Letter before i am able to apply
a Blend to that Path ?Ungroup is not necessary if i convert
a Smart Object into a Curve. -
@Subpath Yes, text will convert into a group of objects, one object per glyph.
I will try to find a solution for single glyph case.
