    Repeater - Is there a way to distort the geometry but not the content ?

      I'm trying to use repeater combined with mesh distort to place shapes on a distorted grid. My issue is that the shape effect transforms both the repeater geometry and its content.

      I wonder if there is a way to apply the mesh distort only to the geometry (so as to displace the anchor of shapes) instead of both the geometry and the repeated shape (see fig 3 below).

      I thought the following repeater option would do that but it seems to have no effect when clicked

          what's the purpose of the repeater icon 'check to apply shape effects to the repeater content' ?
