      Hi,

In preferences, I have the option to create new objects with outline selected. I understand form the tooltip this means every new object is created with only an outline (which I prefer).
However, in my case, this only true for the very first shape I draw. After that, each new shape has a fill that I applied to a previous shape, and not necessarily the first fill.

      Is this intended?

      thanks.

@Gremriel Yes it is intended. It only sets the default mode for new documents. Once shapes are drawn and styled, the default style will vary based on the selection.

@Gremriel The app takes the appearance from the last selected object, so if you want to draw shapes in a certain style/appearance, first select one of the existing objects in that style (no fill/black stroke in this case) then switch to a closed-shape tool and draw.

@vectoradmin Ok, I see. I know Affinity Designer does the same, and it's a minor thing to change the fill afterwards. Perhaps I'm the only one who likes new shapes to have only an outline 🙂

@b77 I think I'll have to get used to just changing the fill (if needed) after each new shape 🙂

@Gremriel There is an open feature request Improvement to Default Object Properties Options to make this an option. It is in the backlog, and will happen sometime after the stable release.

Ah, that's nice. I''ll patiently wait for that.
