Pen and brush symmetery tool

  • Has this been asked yet? Or did I not see it in the current version? A symmetry tool where I can mirror the pen tool or brush tool results on the other side of the canvas?

@Boldline Has not been asked on the forum, but there is such a feature in the backlog for the future.

Something similar can be done with the following steps: https://recordit.co/uFQC4B2IgS

    • draw a rectangle with only an outline (as an indicator).
    • use the Edit - Reference command on the rectangle to create a reference copy.
    • mirror the copy and align their sides.
    • isolate into the original (first) rectangle using double click.
    • start drawing with any of the tools, including brush.
    • the reference should contain a mirror.

The rectangle outline can be removed, once there is some content. And the content is of course clipped to the rectangle (make it large enough).
This trick can also be used for other rotation symmetries or multiple copies.

  • @vectoradmin cool! I like the potential. I was able to follow your directions and the video also helped.
I hope a dedicated gets added into VS at some point. Clip Studio Pro (raster app) has a good way of doing it with a symmetrical tool. Maybe it gets bundled with an advanced perspective tool?
