How to make VS focus an item in layer panel?

Often I find myself scrolling for a specific object in the layer list and every time I must open several groups to find it. Very cumbersome.

How do make VS focus the item when when selected in viewport/artboard?

@Raaskot In Layers panel menu -> Panel Options enable these:
"Select Highlighted"
"Highlighted Selected"
"Open Selected"
