A setting that preserves the original objects after a Boolean intersection

I'm missing a setting where the original
objects are preserved after a boolean intersect.

Also, I'd like it if the result after a boolean intersect
were selected then.

As it is now, only the result is preserved,
and the originals are deleted.

I don't know, but perhaps it could be useful to generally
give users the option to keep one or both objects after
a Boolean operation ?
