I recently saw a beta for an extraordinarily simple and intuitive way of using boolean logic. You toggle on Boolean mode and simply start sculpting with Vector shapes and marquee selections. It is so so effective! It would be great to have it. And it is simple to understand. Same colours merge, different colours cut, marquees cut. You can also use vector selections to cut. That's it.

That's a gif. If it does not play, just click on it. It will play.

@Daniel It’s interesting; this feature is quite unique. In which program was this function discovered?

@Daniel What if: after releasing the mouse, you still would like to adjust a bit the exclusion?

@VectorStyler; https://vectoria.design/demo - this is the beta. You can try it. It is in a very primitive state and has vast room for improvement. It is destructive.

It can be made non-destructive, by entering boolean mode and making compound shapes based on colour (XOR, Union, etc.). And all the shapes simply get added onto the compound.

You can also overlay objects with fill and outline and still have the operations work. 🙂

Because you wrote sculpting, you may like this too.

Is Moho´s (a animation app) Liquid vector shapes
(i think its SDF based, but i am not really sure)

              Here the Video

Here a video where i tried it myself

@Subpath: That's really lovely! Affinity, surprisingly, allows you to do that. You need to simply form a compound shape and then you can begin to sculpt within that compound.

It may looks like Affinity´s compound this but Moho´s Liquid Shapes is different.
Btw Vectorstyler has also boolean compound, just hold the Alt Key if you do a boolean.
