Nodes and Handle flicker when cursor is near them

What preference setting would cause the nodes and handles to flicker when the cursor is nearby? It's distracting and I'm not sure how to change it in the settings

@Boldline Try the Preferences -> Performance -> Hovering Selection check box (first column).
You must close and reopen the document after this settings is changed to take effect.
