      Hi,
      Can you recommend:

      1. What is the best choice for performance setting among : Metal, Software & Open CL.

      2. Rendering threads, Document Threads & Image Threads - Is it better to turn this off and let the software decide?

I am on Catalina, I am ok with VectorStyler using all resources available and have better performance, zooming in out and layer actions not showing the spinning wheel etc.

      Thank you.

      Best,
      gaurav

@richbyte 1. Metal is the best choice.
        2. Leave this unchecked, and it will determine automatically (will use all CPU cores if needed).

But a question: what are the mac hw specs?
With Catalina and Metal it should not have any spinning wheel when zooming in or out.
        Are you using image effects?

@vectoradmin Thank you for getting back on this.
          Processor: Quad Core, i7
          Memory : 16GB
NVIDIA GetForce GT 750MB, Intel Iris 2GB

I was working on only vector file - a layered Map file form OSM but 3000 layers 🙂

@richbyte With that config, the zoom in/out, or moving layers around should not be an issue.

Here are two SVG files with large number of objects, all vectors, for testing.

How do they perform on your machine, when zooming in/out?
I tried these on imac 2010 models and at least for me the performance was good.

@vectoradmin These two files work smoothly, no issue no lag.

I changed my performance setting to - METAL and tried opening a multi-layered map file again. I am having this issue - color of all objects is changed to hot pink.

@richbyte There could be some Metal compatibility issues with some NVIDIA GPUs:

                https://discussions.apple.com/thread/250067515
                https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/forums/geforce-graphics-cards/5/323427/nvidia-drivers-for-macos-1015-catalina/

Is the document calibrated ("Default RGB" mode is not calibrated)?
Try OpenCL, and if that has issues, then Software.

Software mode will slow down rendering of gradients, gradient meshes, and image effects, but vectors with solid colors should be OK.

@vectoradmin I tried all permutations of performance settings, the issue was still there. My guess is SVG import has some bug, perhaps. I converted the file to EPS and I was able to open in correct colors.

I am not in a rut to get this working so please take your time to let into this further if needed.

Thanks for your help and support!
