  @VectorStyler it was at "0" ok that explains it. When I make it any other size, it returns to the right functionality. Ironically, I can see that being a useful option on occasion - the ability to click or drag on the shape and the whole thing erases immediately. Thanks for your help!

  @Subpath I opened a bug on this. The checkbox sizes sometimes are extended to leave room for translations. This can be fixed of course.

  @VectorStyler The key point is that sometimes when operating a graphic at a certain level in a group, after completion, due to too many layers, I can't remember how many layers there are. I don't think anyone pays attention to this. Originally, I need to select the final parent level of this group, so I keep pressing shortcut keys until I select the group. But now the problem is that all layers will be selected, which is always uncomfortable in operation. It requires the operator to be careful, but operational errors cannot be completely avoided. So I still hope to solve this problem. Thank you.

This will keep all local skew, rotation, scale of those other objects. And then do this for the color / style of that changes. I just tried with a single shape - Paste Shape didn’t preserve rotation, etc.? Anyway, neither roof tiles, leaves, bricks, nor windows I make are single shapes - they’re objects with embedded details, essentially groups of objects. There’s quite a bit of work behind the details in them. All the things that make the illustrations feel organic and less like clipart. But as mentioned, probably not a typical use case.

  yes I observed the same and found it excessive too. I think the scaling randomization picks a random value between 0 and 100.5%, which yields to extreme variation. Offset and rotation being in absolute values - not percent, the effect is easier to adjust precisely With only one cursor for scaling, maybe the variation in that case should be +/- 0.5% (99.5% to 100.5%) to remain more subtle.

  FreeHand 9 apparently copies to the clipboard in the following formats: WMF, EMF, PICT (Mac only, DIB/Bitmap, FreeHand internal format You can reportedly copy in these formats via Copy Special: EPS, Adobe Illustrator 7/8, Bitmap, Text It seems the clipboard isn't well suited for use with Freehand and VectorStyler plus other modern tools, unfortunately.

But it can also be used to cut for export or print different parts of an artwork, with some overlap or rotation.
