two undo steps to return nodes to original location when using alignment panel

If I use the alignment panel to align the location of two nodes like in this example and then undo it, is there a reason only one returns to it's original location? It seems to take two undos to get the other one to also go back to it's original location.

it seems more logical that both nodes would return at the same time since they were both moved in tandem initially
