Snap to Guidlines Issue

Objects rarely snap to the guidelines
Sometimes it works well giving a feeling of snapping, most times, it just doesn't work at all.
The issue seems to be worse in the Y direction.
Regular objects like a rectangle or circle work better than created objects.
Snapping a node from a created object never works - only the bounding box will snap.

@encart @Igull I suspect some settings issue with the guidelines. A file might help replicating.

Yes, perhaps some conflicting setting I have, I've tried a few that may be obvious, but no luck.
With show snapping indicators switched on, you can see that occasionally it will snap as the bounding box passes the guideline.

@Igull The "Detect Hovering Node" option in preferences should be disabled.
This causes snapping to break. I will fix this ASAP.
