      I noticed there are many times I am unable to select the artboard with the artboard tool in the vertical toolbar. I can choose that tool and then click around to select it and nothing happens. If I click and drag with it I get a 2nd artboard created which is expected. If I save and close the open file and then reopen the file, the tool returns to functioning normally.

      I notice this happens more often after I've imported art from another file and changed around colors of items int he art. I don't know if or how it might be related.
      I am using default settings in the preferences

        @Boldline "Changed around colors of items in the art" involved double-clicking a container object to edit the objects inside it?

        Because that is the single cause I discovered (and recently reported) for this issue — after exiting the container object the Artboard tool cannot select existing artboards anymore unless you close and re-open that file.

          @b77 hmm yes that seems like a strong possibility it's the same issue you. I was indeed clicking inside containers to edit colors and backing out and trying to alter the artboard color after that. i will test that theory out.

            i tried that out what you wrote and found out
            that it seems you dont have to close and re-open the File.
            Just go back inside the Container ( isolation Mode)
            and the Artboard Tool work.

            Btw it could be any container then.

            here the video

              @Subpath You're right, it's a better workaround. 👍

                CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 9600X, 6-core.
                GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 5070.

                  @Boldline This can be replicated. Will be fixed ASAP.
