I went to update to build 71 on my intel mac the other day and got busy and forgot to finalize the install for a few days. When I went back to it days later and tried to finalize it, it gave me the splash screen with "restoring state" displayed in the messaging - then VS just hangs until I force quit. I tried uninstalling the entire thing and reinstalling it from scratch, but getting the same issue again.

@Boldline What happens if you install version 1.1.068?

@Boldline Try removing (first backing up) the settings.xml and workspace.xml files on that machine.

@b77 @VectorStyler Thanks for your help. When I first tried to just roll back to Build 68, I still got the same issue with it stalling out on the splash screen with the message "restoring state" (crash report was sent at this point when I force-quit VS)
Next I removed the settings.xml and workspace.xml files and then installed build 68 again and it worked properly with no issues or freezes. It then prompted me to upgrade to Build 71 and I was able to also do that successfully - so all is good again!
